Justin Walker has seven years of experience servicing the Alternative Investment Industry. He has worked with hundreds of institutional investors conducting funding due diligence, investor relations professionals sourcing capital, and universities performing academic research. Prior to founding Type One Ventures, Justin worked as a Business Development Manager for a global business advisory company serving corporate finance executives in the Fortune 2000. There he learned about the challenges that many CFOs and corporate executives face in achieving growth objectives and solutions to overcoming those challenges.
Justin holds a B.Sc. in Finance from Florida State University. Additionally, he earned a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation, which has become the global benchmark for analysis, application, and standards of practice in the alternative investment arena. Justin brings a macro, interdisciplinary perspective to the Type One team along with a customer-centric mindset.

The Super Power I wish I had: Elemental Control. I believe the greatests power a leader can possess is effectively leveraging the resources around them. Plus, I love the outdoors and it would be great to control the weather for the perfect day at the beach or on the slopes.
Why I Work in Venture: I’m fortunate to meet with founders everyday who push boundaries and create new solutions to major problems. Contrarian by nature, I love looking for misunderstood or overlooked investment opportunities and working with those visionary individuals to bring them to light.
